I am a professional editor, writer, content strategist, and SEO expert. I spent more than 13 years running the editorial team at POPSUGAR as the Executive Editor. I joined POPSUGAR when it was still a startup (I was employee number 11) and built the editorial team and the content strategy from the ground up.

At POPSUGAR, I served as the arbiter of content vision, quality, and standards across all verticals, including entertainment, fashion, beauty, culture, wellness, and lifestyle. I directed and inspired a 70-person editorial team to produce a combined 50+ million monthly visits, 3.2 billion monthly content views, and 150 pieces of new content daily.

I touched every type of content, from social-media posts to newsy content to SEO articles to special features and even books: I helped president and founder Lisa Sugar write and edit Power Your Happy: Work Hard, Play Nice & Build Your Dream Life.

Before working at POPSUGAR, I was a senior editor at Time Inc.’s Business 2.0 magazine, where I edited cover stories, lengthy features, and the What Works section, which covered business strategy. I started at Business 2.0 as a fact-checker and worked my way up to senior editor in four years.

Over the years, I’ve also been a music writer for SF Weekly, an intern at Curve (at the time, the nation’s largest lesbian magazine), and a writer for my hometown newspaper, The Pensacola News Journal, where I got my very first journalism job at the age of 18, writing obituaries.

I graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, and I now live in Brooklyn with my partner and my rescue dog. I collect grammar books and vintage lunchboxes.
